The Champlain District Cristosal Base Community includes those dedicated to supporting Cristosal and the diocese of El Salvador.  The CBC was founded at the Cristosal Summit in Rock Point in late May of 2011 and consists of members from Vermont and upstate / Champlain Valley New York.

Having sustained the impact of severe weather from Tropical Storm Irene, we have a strong empathy for the victims of the E-12 Storm in Central America, of which El Salvador is among the hardest hit.  Many of the Base Communities in El Salvador that Cristosal supports have been severely impacted. We in the Champlain District join them in solidarity.

One of the prospective long-term projects this group is examining is the possibility of developing and education liaison with the Episcopal parochial schools in El Salvador.  Some possible ideas include a teacher training workshop, a creative writing program, an English language instruction project, or a combination of ideas.
