Eastertide, the fifty days following Easter Sunday, calls us to celebrate and practice resurrection– the birthing of something new, wonderful, surprising. Like a crocus coming up out of the snow, the unexpected can emerge from what is old and worn. Resurrection births renewed hope and promise that God continues to be revealed to us in the ordinary events of our lives.
To shout “Alleluia! “ is to praise God with energy and enthusiasm and anticipate new, surprising, and unexpected revelations of God at work. To proclaim “Alleluia!” with our financial resources is to announce our unshakable belief and joy that God is hard at work in us and in our ministries and that God is up to something awesome! The Episcopal Church in Vermont practices resurrection as we join our voices, our hopes, dreams, passions, and financial resources to serve God. One way to focus this work is through The Alleluia Fund.
In 2013 the Alleluia Fund focuses our attention in several areas:
Eastertide unites us in our passion for God’s mercy, justice, and love and enflames our commitment to serve God in our local communities, in the state of Vermont, and around the world. We reach out to each other as fellow sojourners, seekers, and followers of Christ so that we might join hands, combine resources, and collectively offer the world an experience of our living God. Together we can do so much more than any of can do alone!
Join with Episcopalians and others around the state of Vermont as we shout with joy as we see new and exciting ministries taking shape.
Alleluia! Christ is risen. Christ is risen in our deeds! Donate to the Alleluia Fund this Eastertide.
