Governance

The primary governing body of the Diocese of Vermont is the annual Diocesan Convention. Between Conventions, the Diocesan Council is the legislative arm of the Convention. Beginning with the 2011 Diocesan Convention, the Diocese will be organized into 5 Mission Districts, each of which will elect representatives to Diocesan Council.

The Standing Committee acts as a council of advice to the bishop, the Cathedral Chapter helps the Cathedral Church of St. Paul respond to the needs and ministries to the Diocese, the Rock Point Board of Governors has oversight responsibilities for the diocesan property at Rock Point, the Trustees have oversight of diocesan investment funds, and the General Convention Deputies represent the Diocese at the triennial General Convention of The Episcopal Church.
