St. Stephen’s Middlebury Presents Its 8th Annual Lenten Recital Series

Check out the dates below! St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on the Green, Middlebury, VT presents its 8th annual series of Free Thursday Lenten Concerts.  All programs begin at 12:15 pm and will last around 30-45 minutes.You are welcome to bring a lunch.  Light refreshments provided.

Lenten concert schedule:

#1. March 7th _   George Matthew Jr., St. Stephen’s organist, in a program of Scandinavian organ music

#2. March 14th _   Concert by Middlebury College’s Renaissance a cappella group, the Mountain Ayres

#3. March 21st _   Organ recital by Vaughn Watson, dean of the Vermont Chapter American Guild of Organists

#4. March 28th _   All Bach program by Emily Sunderman, violinist, and George Matthew Jr., organist

#5. April 4th _   Organ recital by Frederick DeHaven, retired Choirmaster and Organist of Christ Church Grosse Pointe in Michigan, and now parishioner at St. Stephen’s.   Fred’s program of music by Johann Sebastian Bach will include the Prelude and Triple Fugue in E-flat from the Clavierubung, part III

#6. April 11th _   The Addison String Quartet, directed by St. Stephen’s own Emily Sunderman

#7. April 18th _   Orgelgebet (Organ Prayers): 8th presentation of the events of Holy Week, as interpreted by organ composers from the Renaissance to today. George Matthew Jr., organist

 A freewill offering basket will be at the back of the church at these concerts.   All receipts to benefit the Music Program at St. Stephen’s.
